What Is FOMC?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Federal Open Market Committee<\/strong> (FOMC<\/strong>) is a committee within the Federal Reserve<\/strong> System (the Fed<\/strong>). Its mandate is to oversee the nation\u2019s open market operations (i.e. the Fed\u2019s<\/strong> buying and selling of United States<\/strong> Treasury securities). This Federal Reserve<\/strong> committee makes key decisions about Interest Rates<\/strong> and the  United States money supply growth. Interest rates are very important in currency evaluation. On the 1st of February, FOMC <\/strong>will hold their first Monetary Policy <\/strong>meeting of 2023 where they are expected to hike their Interest Rates <\/strong>by 25 basis points, taking them to 4.75% from 4.50%.
