{"id":2090,"date":"2016-01-05T09:23:04","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T09:23:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/?p=2090"},"modified":"2019-05-11T21:30:35","modified_gmt":"2019-05-11T19:30:35","slug":"london-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/london-session\/","title":{"rendered":"Currency Pairs To Trade In London Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\">Trading during the\u00a0 London session?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We all know that <em><strong>currencies can be traded at any time<\/strong><\/em> as the market is <strong>opened 24 hours 5 days a week<\/strong>, but even so, we <strong>need to know when is the best time to trade<\/strong> <em>certain currencies<\/em> and when is the best time to stay away from certain currencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is common sense that in order to trade successfully, we must try to <strong>trade the currencies when the people of that specific country are awake<\/strong> because there is <em>more liquidity<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Forex market comprises of <strong>4 trading sessions<\/strong> which open and close at different times, see Forex market hours <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/best-time-to-trade-forex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>This session<\/strong> is the <em>busiest of them all<\/em>, it is the most traded and <em>volatile session<\/em> in the Fx market.<strong> London is the largest dealing centre<\/strong> in the whole world. The<strong> London session<\/strong> presents traders with more liquidity.<\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin: 5px; text-align: center; background-color: #ffff99;\">\n<p><strong>================&gt;Trade with regulated brokers <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The moment the <strong>London session<\/strong> opens, the volatility in the markets increase and during this session, we (traders) <em>often see price movements in some currency pairs<\/em>. <strong>London session<\/strong> is <em>also known as European session.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My own trades are mostly during the <strong>London session,\u00a0<\/strong> but I also trade the <strong>New york session<\/strong> which overlaps with the<strong> London session<\/strong> . I do trade other sessions as well,\u00a0 especially during news flow that takes place during later sessions of the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/london-session\/london-session-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2104\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2104 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/app\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/LONDON-SESSION.png?resize=585%2C232&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"LONDON SESSION\" width=\"585\" height=\"232\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\">Which currency pairs are mostly traded during London session?<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">GBP\u00a0 \u00a0pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">EUR \u00a0pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">USD \u00a0pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gbp pairs<\/strong> in particular trade very well during <strong>London session<\/strong> because there is also a lot of <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/economic-news-specific-to-gbp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NEWS FLOW AFFECTING GBP<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0When looking at economic calendars ( which is something very important to me) \u00a0we can see mostly news that are specific to GBP are released at 4:30 am \u00a0NY (10:30 am South African standard time) which is during <strong>London session.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I used to hate trading GBP pairs and now I realise I hated it because I traded it the most when I was still not paying attention to the daily economic calendar.\u00a0 My trades were always affected negatively by news, \u00a0that has changed though.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GBP pairs are just fine and I trade them more often now<\/strong> even though their margin is a bit higher than most pairs, we are blessed in <strong>South Africa to have the most volatile session during our day time.\u00a0 S<\/strong>ome traders from other countries have to actually wake up or stay up to catch the <strong>London session<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\">Some facts to consider\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When <strong>Asian\/Tokyo<\/strong> session opens, the <strong>companies in Japan are opened for business and will be buying and selling currencies in order to carry on with their day-to-day business deals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This explains why we should trade the currencies when the people of that specific country are awake. This way, there will be <em><strong>high volume of Japanese Yen (JPY) exchange<\/strong><\/em> with the companies they do business with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>When Europe\u2019s businesses are open for business, the EUR will be highly traded in high volumes<\/strong><\/em>, due to European businesses trading with companies from other countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In short, each session has its own currency pair that trades well in high volumes because of all the factors mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotforex.com\/hf\/en\/deposit-withdraw\/master-card.html?refid=10301604&amp;bid=vkr0n367\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4412 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/learnfxtrading.net\/app\/app\/app\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Mastercard-Hotforex-728x90.jpg?resize=728%2C90&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\">Most traded currency pairs during the\u00a0 Asian\/Tokyo session<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">AUD\/ AUSSI\u00a0 pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">NZD \/KIWI \u00a0\u00a0pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">JPY \/YEN \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0pairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The above mentioned currencies are mostly traded because they are <strong>domestic currencies of markets that are opened at that time<\/strong>. As the <strong>European session<\/strong> is near to closing , the volume is decreased and the volatility dies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Another factor that lowers the volume\/ liquidity\u00a0is the UK and U.S bank holidays<\/strong>, when these two countries aren\u2019t participating in the markets, the liquidity dies as they are the important players in the FX markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I also do not mind waking up sometimes to trade the Australian Dollar during the <strong>Asian\/Tokyo session<\/strong>, the AUD news mostly happen during Asian session and when I really want to trade it.
